Seating children: kids’ table or with parents?
There’s no single right answer. It depends on ages, dinner length, childcare, and reception style. Here’s how to decide and show it clearly on the chart.
When a kids’ table makes sense
Similar ages, planned activities, a nearby adult contact, and parents who want a calmer dinner. Keep it close to parents—never isolated without supervision.
When to seat kids with parents
Very young children, naps, nursing, or only a few kids overall. Note child meals for the caterer.
Meals, allergies, and notes
Centralize child meals and allergies on each guest record so CSV/PDF exports stay reliable for the kitchen.
On the floor plan
Label the kids’ table, keep a path to restrooms/outdoors, and avoid loud speakers. Match seat count to children actually attending.
