Information we collect

We collect information about you when you provide it to us, when you use the service, and from service providers that help us operate the product.

• Account information — email address, user ID, password (stored securely by our authentication provider), language preference, and plan status.
• Seating plans — project name, table layout, assignments, seating rules, and related metadata.
• Guest lists — names, groups, meals, tags, notes, and other fields you enter or import.
• Subscription and billing data — active plan, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, and billing period end date for Pro. Payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
• Usage information — actions you take in the app (for example moving guests, saving plans), basic device and browser data, and diagnostic logs needed to keep the service reliable.
• Communications — messages you send when requesting support or giving feedback.

How we use information

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the service.
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Sync and store your seating plans across devices.
• Generate and host read-only share links you choose to enable.
• Process Couple purchases, Pro subscriptions, and plan changes through Stripe.
• Send service-related messages, such as account, billing, or security notices.
• Respond to support requests and product feedback.
• Analyze aggregated usage to fix bugs and improve features.
• Comply with law and enforce our terms.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below.

• Service providers — we use trusted vendors to host the application, store data, authenticate users, and measure site performance. Stripe processes payments on our behalf; Stripe's use of your data is also governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
• People you choose — when you enable a share link, guest names, table assignments, and other included content become visible to anyone with that link.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service.
• Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Plans and billing

seatingplan.studio offers a Free plan, a one-time Couple purchase (currently €6 one-time through Stripe), and a Pro subscription (currently €11 per month through Stripe). When you purchase or subscribe, you are redirected to Stripe Checkout. You can manage or cancel a Pro subscription through the Stripe customer portal linked from Settings on the dashboard. We receive webhook notifications from Stripe to update your plan status. Cancelling a Pro subscription downgrades your account to the Free plan at the end of the current billing period, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Public sharing and read-only links

The service lets you create public, view-only links to a seating plan and guest list. Content in a shared link — including names, tables, groups, meals, and notes — may be accessible to anyone who has the link. Please review what you include before sharing. You can stop sharing by disabling or deleting the link from your account.

How we store and secure information

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Data is hosted with reputable cloud infrastructure providers. Access to production systems is restricted to people who need it to operate the service.

How long we keep information

We retain your account and plan data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you delete a plan, your account, or specific content, we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain information to comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain backups for a limited time.

Your rights and choices

You can:

• Update preferences (language) from Settings on the dashboard.
• Manage or cancel a Pro subscription through the Stripe billing portal.
• Delete individual plans from the dashboard.
• Request account deletion by contacting us at the address below.
• Export guest data via CSV export when your plan allows it.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may also have additional rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact:

Cookies

We use essential cookies (session, language) and, where applicable, Supabase authentication cookies. No third-party advertising cookies are set by default.

Children

seatingplan.studio is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. When we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps designed to protect it in line with applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the effective date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice within the app or by email. Your continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
